Katie Hizen
I have 20 years of experience in technical writing, covering topics from RFID engineering to architecture to making wastewater plant expansions sexy. Like many people during COVID, I decided it was time to make the switch and pursue fiction-writing full-time. I’m working on drafts of crime, high-fantasy, and horror. I’m a reader of all genres and alternate between fiction and non-fiction books.
I have a BA in Journalism from Texas A&M University in College Station, and in 2020, as I prepared to make the leap to writing fiction full-time, I completed online creative fiction courses. I live outside of Dallas, Texas, with my husband and three dogs.
My biggest fiction-writing accomplishment so far is being a founding member of the Blunt Quills. We are a small group of five fiction writers of different genres - some of us published, some not - all navigating the world of fiction writing together.
